Bars where to enjoy the Jazzaldia Festival

End of July and here we have the Jazzaldia, the biggest jazz festival in Spain and therefore one of the most important events of the year in the city. During the next five days, we’ll have dozens of jazz (and non-jazz) bands in different locations of the city center.

Trinity Square and the big stage on the Zurriola beach are the clear highlights, the first one for the most wanted bands (tickets are usually sold out weeks before) and the second one hosts a huge audience with gigs for free.

There’s other options as well in some special places as the Náutico, suitable to enjoy DJ sessions with its amazing bay view.

Another good option, less massified, is to just stay in one of these bars, wich will host some small bands to make your drink or dinner much more amusing:

  • Polka. At Sarriegi square, the old Zibibbo has been renewed and now offers pintxos and cocktails. Sunday at 18:30 the blues band Mojo Hand will play there.
  • Victoria Café. The Victoria Eugenia theatre is a nice place to relax and drink something, specially Friday and Saturday night with the Lara Vizuete Quartet and their filin, a sound between bolero and Cuban old jazz. Sounds interesting.
  • El Perlón. This terrace offers probably one of the best views in town and a drink menu quite affordable. Friday and Saturday at 19:30 the band Spread Your Swings will play an elegant jazz, blues and swing repertoire.
  • Xarma. The vanguardist restaurant offers selected wines, portions and tasty pintxos, with the company of the local singer Kassandra Charalampi.
